Eyebrows frame the face and cause expression. The right brow line has the seemingly magical effect of taking years away from your appearance and giving your entire face a 'lift'. On the other hand, there are eyebrow shapes that are downright unflattering. And the wrong eyebrows can make you look tense, sad, startled, or tired, or just plain older.
HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT BROW LINE:
For most people, the brow line should start at the point directly above the inside corner of the eye. (Exception: a face that is too wide can be slimmed down by bringing the brows closer together.)
How the brow line should end however depends on the shape of the face:
- For a round face shape the brow ends should point toward the top of the ears to draw attention away from the fullness of the cheeks.
- An oval face requires the end to point down toward the earlobe so it follows the curve of the face and accentuates the oval.
- A square face should have the end shape down towards the midear to cut the broad part of the face in half.
